Beluru Raghunandan is an M.A. graduate in Kannada with three gold medals, who has involved himself in both the Kannada theatre and literary worlds. Kannada University, Hampi has awarded him an M.Phil for ‘Anala and Dushtabuddi Natakagalu’, a work of Dejagau and PhD for ‘Kannada Theater and Cinema: Vyakti Neleya Tatvika Chintanegalu’. Recognized as a poet and dramatist, Raghunandan has published many poetry collections, collections of proverbs, children’s stories, travel literature and drama books. He has been honoured with many awards, namely, the Kuvempu Yuvakavi Award felicitated by Kannada Sangharsa Samiti for his contribution to literature and theatre, Jyoti Puraskara by Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Bangalore, Belur Taluk Rajyotsava Award, Bendre Granth Award, Salu Marada Thimmakka Hasuru Award, Na.D’Souza H.S.V. Putani Literary Award, Tejasvi Kattimani Yuva Puraskar, Prize in Children’s Playwriting Competition conducted by Karnataka Sahitya Academy, ‘Best Director’ Award at Bangalore Short Drama Festival, Best Playwright Award in Enact National Theatre Festival conducted by Hashmi Theatre.
