Journalist and writer Deepa Ganesh has served as sub-editor in ‘The Hindu’ newspaper for two decades. Currently she is serving as Executive Director of the University’s Centre for Visual and Performing Arts in RV University. She has great interest in literature, languages, music and theatre. She was the editor of Sahitya Academy’s magazine Aniketana for three years.
‘The Life and Times of Gangubai Hanagal’, ‘Hunt’, ‘Bangle’ are her published works. Also she has translated ‘Chameleon’ – U.R. Ananthamurthy’s Sahitya Academy award-winning collection of short stories, ‘Just a Few Pages’ by Vaidehi, early Kannada writer Saraswati Bai Rajawade’s autobiography and Kaleye Kayaka (Art as Life), the autobiography of Kannada company theater legend Gubbi Veeranna. She has also published a Source Book of Kannada Theatre (1850-1950), Co-authored with K.V. Akshara.
