Journalist, poet H.N. Aarti is originally from Bangalore. She did her primary education in Bangalore and completed her postgraduation with 2 gold medals. Aarti started her career with the popular Doordarshan show ‘That Anta Deli’ and has directed 2500 episodes, which got her huge success.
Responding to the contemporary through her poetry, she often visits translation. Her other interests are travelling and drama.
She has published many works such as ‘Okuli’, ‘Ba heli kalisoona Hagalige’, ‘Smoking Zone’ and ‘Bettadadiya Bidira Hoo’. Also, many of her poems have been translated into 6 other languages including English and Slovenian.
She has received many honours including the State level award of the Authors Council for the poetry collection ‘Okuli’, the ‘Best Work’ award of the Karnataka Writers’ Association in 1997, for ‘Ba heli kalisoona Hagalige’. Apart from this, Aarti has represented India in international poet conferences.
