Director, cinematographer, documentary maker K.M. Chaitanya graduated in Journalism from Christ College, Bangalore. He has directed short films, documentaries for BBC channel and serials like Devanur Mahadeva’s ‘Kusumbale’, Shantinath Desai’s ‘Om Namo’, ‘Once upon a time’, ‘Mugilu’ for Kannada-ETV. Chaitanya, who entered the film industry as an assistant to Girish Karnad for Kanur Subbamma Heggadathi, became an independent director by directing a film under the same name based on Agni Sridhar’s story, ‘Aa Dinagalu’. He has adapted plays of many famous authors including Chandrasekhara Kambar’s play “Sambashiva Prahasana”, P. Lankesh’s “Sankranti” for theatre.
He has received Best Debut Director Awards from Indian Cinematographers Association, Chennai Film Fans Association and Raghavendra Chitravani.
