An agronomist by profession, K.N. Ganeshiah has been involved in breed development for the past 30 years. Another of his research interests is exploring the evolutionary principles underlying the behaviour of animals and plants. Apart from research, he is also interested in pursuing his interest in literature.

He focused on creative writing through the short story ‘Shalabhanjike’. ‘Kanaka Musuku’, ‘Karisiriyana’, ‘Kapilipisaara’, ‘Chitadanta’, ‘Elu Rottigalu’, ‘Mukadhatu’, ‘Shilakula Valase’, ‘Kanana Janardhana’, ‘Jala-Jaala’, ‘Hokkala Medulu’, ‘Shalabhanjike’, ‘Padmapani’, ‘Nehala’, ‘Sigiriya’ and ‘Kalpavasi’ are the important books he has published.

He has created and released CDs under the name ‘Jivasampada’ in collaboration with the Government of India for which have been recognised globally. He has received awards from national and international organizations for his contribution.
