Journalist, writer K. Puttaswamy completed his primary education at Kanakapura KGF and graduated from Bangalore Agricultural University with a degree in agriculture. He also holds a Diploma in Journalism from the University of Mysore and a Degree in DLit from Kannada University, Hampi. He started his career as a journalist and has worked in various positions in the Karnataka Government Information Department, Forest, Environment, Backward Classes Department, Youth and Sports Department, Kannada Book Authority, Bangalore Metropolitan Corporation, Bangalore Development Authority etc.
His main literary works are Jiva Sankulagala Ugama, Jivajala and Cinemayana. He has translated the works Mani Bhumik, Sahasrabuddhe, Bhirendra Bhattacharya, HG Wales, Jules Verne and Ly Wallace. He has received Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award, State Environment Award and President’s Swarna Kamala Award.
