Karki Krishnamurthy hails from Karki in Honnavar Taluk of Uttara Kannada District. A civil engineer by profession, he has lived in Muscat and Dubai for a few years for work and is currently the Vice President of Colliers International, Bangalore. His areas of interest are reading, cinema, drama and travelling. 

His story anthologies are ‘Male Maruwa Huduga’, ‘Galige Methid Banna’ and ‘Belli Belakina Jaadu’ is the novel. He was the editor of ‘Sugandhi’ magazine section. He has received many awards including ‘Masti Katha Puraskara, Bendre Grantha Bahumana, Kannada Sahitya Parishad’s RN Habbu Datti Prashasti and Swasti Prakashan’s Bahumana. Many of his stories have been translated into Hindi. The story ‘Kanada Geregalu’ won the first prize in the prestigious Prajavani Deepavali Kathaspardhe for the year 2018.
