Kavya Kadame originally hails from Kadame in Uttara Kannada district. She pursued BSc in Journalism with six gold medals from Karnataka University. She has been living in New Jersey, USA since 2013. ‘Dhyanakke Tarikhina Hangilla’, ‘Jeans Totta Devaru’ are her published poetry collections. ‘Makona Ekanta’, ‘Tottu Kranti’ are story anthologies and ‘Punarapi’ is a novel. Drama anthologies of ‘Ataddangatha’ and ‘Door Number Eight’ and ‘Sanjeevini Stores’. She has published a collection of essays on ‘Dura Deshvemba pakkada Mane’. Her poetry works have received Kendra Sahitya Academy Yuva Puraskar, Toto Puraskar, Kadengodlu Kavya Puraskar and Dinakar Kavya Award, Chhanda Pustaka Prashasti, Raghavendra Patil Katha Prashasti, Amma Prashasti, Bendre Granth Prashasti, Ratnamma Heggade Granth Prashasti, Dr H Shantaram Prashasti, Veena Shanteswara Youth Storyteller Prashasti, Sahitya Parishad and Karnataka Writers’ Association charity awards and Natak Academy’s Drama Prize for prose works.
