Nagesh Hegde- Teacher, environmentalist and journalist Nagesh Hegde completed his BSc in Geology from Motinasar Memorial Arts and Science College, Shirsi and MSc (Tech) in Applied Geology from Kharagpur IIT. Besides, he has done M.Phil in Environmental Science from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He was the assistant editor of Sudha Weekly and encouraged science and technology writers in Kannada by giving opportunity in Prajavani, Sudha Newspapers/ magazines. His book ‘Iruvudonde Bhumi’ published by Akshara Prakashan is one of the most important works on environment and science in Kannada.
He has created several works related to environment and sciences including ‘Mangaladalli Jivaloka’, ‘Gagana Sakhiyara Seraga Hididu’, Nammolagina Brahmanda, ‘Kereyali Chinna Kereye Chinna’, ‘Gulige Gumma’ (Children’s Play), ‘Gurugrahadalli Deepavali’, ‘Capsolagitti’, Minuguva Meenu’, ‘Kulantari Kothi’, Antarikshadalli Mahasagara’. He has received many honorary awards including Media Academy Lifetime Award, Sahitya Academy Award, Vigyan Academy Award and Rajyotsava Award for his contribution.
