Prof. O. L. Nagabhushana Swamy, a renowned Kannada critic and translator, was born in Hoskote near Bangalore. He earned an M.A. in English from the University of Mysore and later completed his M.A. in Kannada in 1975. He retired as an English teacher and has been actively involved with institutions such as Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati and the kendra Sahitya Academy. Prof. Swamy has authored over 60 publications and has received accolades such as the Karnataka Sahitya Akademy Award and the Mysore and Karnataka University Prize. His translation of ‘Chakori’ also earned him recognition from the Karnataka Sahitya Academy. In recognition of his contributions, he has been honored with prestigious awards including the Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka.
