Dr. Rajendra Chenni, a distinguished Kannada critic, hails from Nagargali village in Khanapura taluk of Belgaum district. He holds an M.A. from Karnataka University and a PhD from Mysore University. Dr. Chenni has served as a lecturer at various institutions and later as the Head of the English Department at Kuvempu University.
Throughout his career, he has actively contributed to both Kannada and English literature through his reviews, articles, and stories. His notable works include ‘Amurtate mattu Parisara’, ‘Bendre Kavya Sampradaaya mattu Swantike’, and ‘Deshivada’. Dr. Chenni has been honoured with several awards, including the Karnataka Sahitya Akademy Prize, in recognition of his literary contributions.
