S.G. Vasudev- S.G.Vasudev, one of the internationally renowned film artists, had enrolled himself to study BSc. However, he dropped out in midway and pursued arts at Government College of Arts and Crafts, Madras after realising that his true calling was painting. He has been in the art world for more than four decades; Vriksha, Mithuna, Heu-She serial films have brought him immense fame. Vasudev was one of the founders of the Cholamandal Artists’ Village which was established in 1965-66. He has received many prestigious awards including K. S. Phanikkar Award. A documentary called ‘The Open Frame’ has also been made about his art.
