Gangadaraiah who has a master’s degree in English literature has published many important works in the field of Kannada literature. ‘Navila Nela’, and ‘Ondu Uddaneya Neralu’ are his story collections. He created a volume of portraits called ‘Bayala Parimala’. He has translated Vaikam’s stories, Lorca’s play, Daryo Fo’s play, and Chingiz Aitmatov’s novel Jamila, to Kannada. He has also translated the articles for the ‘African Sahitya Vachike’ from Kuvempu Bashabharati, and the comprehensive works of Dr. Rammanohara Lohia and Jagjivanaram. He received the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award in 1996 for his work ‘Vaikam Kathegalu’.
