Sena Desai Gopal, a journalist with a focus on science, medicine, food, and travel, was born and raised in India, currently residing in Boston with her family. Her writing has graced the pages of prestigious publications such as The Boston Globe, The Atlantic, Modern Farmer, and The Times of India, among others. Hailing from a small village in southern India, and growing up amidst the looming shadow of the Upper Krishna Project, one of India’s largest dam undertakings, Sena was steeped in the narratives of her village’s inhabitants and the complex landscape of dam politics, actively advocating for equitable compensation for those whose livelihoods and lands were to be affected by the dam’s construction. Now, Sena embarks on a new chapter as she ventures into the realm of fiction with her debut novel. For more about her and her work, visit her website.
