Poet Shruti B.R. hails from Tarikere in Chikkamagaluru district. Currently residing in Bangalore, she is working as a KAS officer. She secured Manasa Gangotri’s Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Mysore with First Rank and Five Gold Medals and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mysore in 2017.  

 Shruti received the Kendra Sahitya Academy Yuva Puraskara for the year 2024 for her first poetry collection ‘Zero Balance’.
