R Tarini Shubhadayini, a very sensitive Kannada critic and writer, has studied both Kannada and English literature. She is a lecturer who has brought out collections of poetry like ‘Todiraga’, ‘Chittaglaniya Matu’ and ‘Ondu Tundu Bella’. She has given several lectures on Kannada literature. ‘Hedeyantaduva Sodaru’ is her most prominent critique work. ‘Stree Shikshana Charitreya Hejjegalu’ is her humanistic work. She has received many awards; namely, the Gudibande Poornima Endowment Award from the Karnataka Women Writers Association, the Katharangam Award, Prof. DC Anantaswamy Sanskaran Dattnidhi Award, the Bendre Granth Award …etc. She is one of those few women writers who gave a new dimension to feminism.
