Ugama Srinivas is a journalist, writer, actor and has been working in journalism for the past 30 years. He has been a Tumkur district reporter in Kannadaprabha for 25 years and is actively involved in literature, theatre and organising committees.

He has published seven works so far including ‘Bayala Bagilu’, ‘Ondu batte churu’, ‘Avala Jogi’ (poetry collection), ‘American Doll’ (story collection), ‘Male Kavu’ (a book on culture), ‘Beedi’ (edited work), a book for Bangalore University on Freedom Fighter Ponnammal.

Ugama Srinivasa, who is also involved in theatre activities, has established the Zen Team Theatre Institute in Tumkur and has organized more than 100 experimental plays so far. He is also a member of Karnataka Natak Academy who has staged plays of repertory such as Rashtriya Nataka School, Neenasam, Rangayana, Sanehalli Sivasanchara etc. in Tumkur. He was previously a member of the Tumkur District Awareness Committee of the Kannada Development Authority and a member of the National Association of Journalists.
